Grilled Peppercorn Sirloin Sandwiches with Sun Dried Tomato Aioli

Sandwich Recipes from AlansKitchen.comIngredients

  • 1 - package (1-1/2 to 1-3/4 pounds) peppercorn-flavored beef filet of sirloin
  • 1/4 - teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 - teaspoon pepper
  • 3/4 - cup mayonnaise
  • 1/4 - cup oil-packed dried tomatoes, finely chopped
  • 4 - Tablespoons prepared balsamic vinaigrette
  • 1 - package (5 to 6 ounces) mixed baby greens
  • 1 - loaf French bread (approx. 24 x 4 inches)

Directions

Prepare grill to medium to high heat.

  1. Cut beef roast lengthwise in half and place beef on grid. 
  2. Grill, uncovered, for 13 to 15 minutes for medium rare to medium doneness, turning occasionally. 
  3. Season with salt and pepper.
  4. In small bowl, add mayonnaise, tomatoes and 1 tablespoon vinaigrette. Mix well. 
  5. In large bowl, combine greens and 3 tablespoons vinaigrette. Lightly toss. 
  6. Cut bread horizontally in half.
  7. Let the steak to sit for 5 to 10 minutes. 
  8. Carve beef into 1/4-inch thick slices. 
  9. Arrange greens on bottom half of bread and top with beef, then with mayonnaise mixture (aioli). 
  10. Cover with top half of bread. 
  11. Cut crosswise into 4 sandwiches. 
  12. Serve with remaining aoli.
