Ingredients
- 1 - teaspoon Red
Pepper Flakes (depending on heat preference)
- 12 - Roll Sausage (or
patties)
- 14 - ounces Marinara
Sauce
- 1/3 - cup Ricotta
Cheese
- 1/2 - small Red Onion
- 6 - ounces Mushrooms
sliced
- 2 - tube (10 ounces)
Refrigerated Pizza Dough
- 2 - cups Mozzarella
Cheese
- 1 - Egg beaten
Directions
Preheat oven to 425
degrees F. Lightly grease 2 baking sheets.
- Heat a large skillet
over medium high heat.
- Cook and crumble
sausage until firm. Drain off fat.
- Add mushrooms and
onions and sauté until softened, about 5 minutes.
- Transfer mixture to a
large bowl and add marinara sauce, ricotta, mozzarella
and pepper flakes. Combine.
- Remove dough from
package and unfold dough.
- Gently stretch to
11-12 inch square.
- Cut each dough into 4
even squares.
- Spoon about 1/3 cup in
center of each square.
- Fold dough over to
form a triangle.
- Press dough with a
fork to seal.
- Brush Calzones with
egg wash.
- Cut a small hole in
the center of the Calzone to allow steam to escape.
- Bake for 15 minutes or
until golden brown and serve.
