Italian Meatball Heroes

Cook Time: 25 min.
Ingredients:
- 1/3 - cup Italian Bread Crumbs
- 1/3 - cup chopped green onions
- 1/4 - teaspoon pepper
- 1 - pound ground beef or turkey
- 1 - Tablespoon olive oil
- 1 - cup (3 ounces) sliced fresh
mushrooms
- 1 - large green sweet pepper, chopped
(1 cup)
- 1 - can (28 ounces) Recipe Ready
Crushed Tomatoes with Italian Herbs
- 6 - Italian or French rolls, split
- 1/2 - cup (2 ounces.) shredded
mozzarella cheese
Directions:
Preheat oven to 425°F.
- In a medium bowl, combine crumbs, green
onions and pepper. Add beef and mix well.
- Shape into 1 1/2-inch meatballs. Place
in ungreased baking pan.
- Bake for 10 minutes or until no longer
pink inside. Drain on paper towels and set aside.
- Meanwhile, heat oil in large skillet
over medium-high heat.
- Add mushrooms and sweet pepper and cook
2 to 3 minutes or until tender.
- Stir in undrained tomatoes; bring to
boil. Reduce heat to low.
- Add meatballs and cook, uncovered, 4 to
5 minutes.
- Spoon meatballs and sauce onto each
roll.
- Sprinkle each with 2 tablespoons
cheese.
- Heat in oven 3 minutes or until cheese
is melted.
