Sandwich Recipes from AlansKitchen.comIngredients

  • 1 - Tablespoon Unsalted Butter
  • 1 - large Yellow Onion sliced
  • 1 - Tablespoon sugar, if desired
  • 1/4 - cup Honey Mustard
  • 1/4 - cup Mayonnaise
  • 8 - slices Focaccia Bread (5" x 5", split in half lengthwise)
  • 12 - ounces Golden Tradition Premium Original Smoked Half Ham (Sliced)
  • 4 - slices Swiss Cheese
  • 2 - Tablespoons Green Onions sliced

Directions

Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.

  1. Melt butter in pan over medium heat.
  2. Add onions and sauté until deep golden brown, about 10 minutes.
  3. Add sugar if desired to carmelize the onions. Remove from heat.
  4. Combine mustard and mayonnaise in a small bowl.
  5. Spread a layer of mustard mixture on both sides of bread.
  6. Distribute the ham, cheese, carmelized onions among 4 bread halves.
  7. Place the sandwiches (open faced) in oven and bake until cheese is melted and heated throughout, about 3-4 minutes.
  8. Remove from oven.
  9. Place green onions on top of cheese.
  10. Top with top slice of bread and serve.
