Beef Burgundy

Slow Cooker Recipes from AlansKitchen.com Makes 5 servings
Prep Time: 20 minutes
Cooking Time: LOW 10 to 12 hrs.

Ingredients:

  • 1/3     cup all-purpose flour
  • 1        teaspoon salt
  • 1/4     teaspoon pepper
  • 2        pounds cubed beef stew meat
  • 1-1/2  cups fresh baby carrots, halved crosswise
  • 1        package (10-ounces) fresh pearl onions, peeled
  • 1        package (8-ounces) package small fresh whole mushrooms
  • 1        garlic clove, minced
  • 1        bay leaf
  • 1        can (10-1/2-ounces) condensed beef consommé
  • 1        cup water
  • 1/2     cup red burgundy wine
  • Fresh oregano, if desired

Directions:

  1. In 3-1/2 or 4-quart slow cooker, add the flour, salt, pepper and beef. You want to mix well. 
  2. Then add the carrots, onions, mushrooms, garlic, bay leaf, beef consommé, water, and burgundy. 
  3. Mix well.
  4. Cover and cook on LOW for 10 to 12 hours or until carrots and beef are tender. 
  5. Garnish with oregano.
