Chicken & Wild Rice
Makes 8 to 10 servings
Prep Time: 15 min.
Cooking Time: LOW 4 to 6 hrs.
Ingredients:
- 2 - cups wild rice (uncooked)
- 1/2 - cup slivered almonds
- 1/2 cup onions (chopped)
- 1/2 - cup celery (chopped)
- 1 - can (8 to 12 ounces) mushrooms
(drained)
- 2 - cups chicken (cut up)
- 6 - cups chicken broth
- 1/2 - teaspoon salt
- 1/4 - teaspoon pepper
- 1/4 - teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 - Tablespoon parsley
Directions:
- Wash and drain rice.
- In the slow cooker, add rice, almonds,
onions, celery, mushrooms, chicken, broth, salt, pepper, garlic powder,
and parsley. Mix well.
- Cover and cook on LOW for 4 to 6
hours or until rice is cooked. (Do not removed lid before rice has
cooked 4 hours.
