Homestyle Apple Brown Betty

Cooking Time: LOW 3 – 4 hours or HIGH 1-1/2 – 2 hours
6 - cups apples, peeled, cored and cut into slices
3 - cups bread crumbs
1/2 - cup brown sugar
1 - teaspoon cinnamon
1 - teaspoon nutmeg
1/8 - teaspoon salt
1/2 - cup butter or margarine, melted
1/4 - cup walnuts, finely chopped (optional)
- In the 3-quart or larger slow cooker, lay the
apples in the bottom.
- In a mixing bowl, add the bread crumbs,
cinnamon, nutmeg, salt, brown sugar, butter and walnuts.
