Easy Virginia Chili
Slow Cooker Recipes from AlansKitchen.comMakes 10 to 12 servings

You can serve this chili over cooked rice.

Prep Time: 15 minutes
Cooking Time: LOW 7 to 8 hours or HIGH 3 hours

Ingredients

  • 1 - pound ground beef
  • 1 - onion, chopped
  • 1 - green bell pepper, chopped
  • 1-1/2 - teaspoon salt
  • 1 - Tablespoon chili powder
  • 2 - teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 - can (29 ounces) tomato sauce
  • 3 - cans (16 ounces) kidney beans, drained
  • 1 - can (14-1/2 ounces) crushed or stewed tomatoes
  • 1 - can (6 ounces) tomato paste
  • 2 - cups cheddar cheese, grated

Directions

  1. In a skillet, add beef and brown.  Add onion and bell pepper halfway through browning process.  
  2. Drain.
  3. To the slow cooker, pour in the ground beef mixture.
  4. Add in the salt, chili powder, Worcestershire sauce, tomato sauce, kidney beans, crushed or stewed tomatoes, and tomato paste.
  5. Cover and cook on LOW 7 to 8 hours or HIGH 3 hours.
  6. Serve in bowls topped with cheddar cheese.
