Pasta Fagioli Soup
Makes 6 (1/2-cups) servings.

Prep Time: 20 minutes
Cooking Time: LOW 8 – 10 hours or HIGH 4 - 6 hours.

1 - can (15-1/2 ounces) Great Northern beans
1 - pound ground beef, browned and drained
1 - onion, chopped
1 - stalk celery, chopped
2 - cloves garlic, minced
2 - cans (10-1/2 ounces) condensed beef broth
2 - cans (14-1/2 ounces) whole tomatoes
1 - teaspoon black pepper
1/4 - teaspoon dried marjoram
1/4 - teaspoon cayenne pepper
1/4 - teaspoon hot pepper sauce
1 - teaspoon dried basil
2 - cups macaroni, cooked

  • In the 3-quart or larger slow cooker, add beans, ground beef, onion, celery, garlic, broth, tomatoes, pepper, marjoram, cayenne pepper, pepper sauce, and basil.
  • Cover and cook on LOW 8 to 10 hours or on HIGH 4 to 6 hours.
  • Add the pasta 30 minutes before the end of the cooking time.
