Double Chocolate Brownies
Southern Home CookingMakes 1-1/2 dozen 

Prep Time: 10 min.
Baking Time: 35 min.

Ingredients

  • 1 - cup butter or margarine (softened)

  • 2 - cups sugar

  • 4 - large eggs

  • 1 - cup cocoa

  • 1 - teaspoon vanilla extract

  • 1 - cup all-purpose flour

  • 1 - cup pecans (chopped)

  • 2/3 - cup semisweet chocolate or white chocolate morsels.

Directions

Preheat oven to 350° F. Grease a 9x13-inch baking pan.

  1. With an electric mixer at medium speed, beat butter until creamy.

  2. Gradually add sugar (beating well).  Add eggs (1 at a time) beating just until blended.

  3. Add cocoa and vanilla.  Beat at low speed 1 minute or until blended.

  4. Gradually add flour (beating well).

  5. Stir in pecans and chocolate morsels.

  6. Pour batter into baking pan.

  7. Bake for 30 to 35 minutes.

  8. Cool and cut into squares.
