New Orleans Sausage Wraps

To make the dipping sauce, in a small

In a bowl, sift together the flour, powdered
milk, baking powder, spices, and salt.
Cut in the shortening until the mixture looks
like coarse cornmeal.
Add the cheese to the biscuit mix and mix.
Slowly add the water into the biscuit mix to make
the dough. You do not want to over-mix.
On a lightly floured surface, roll the biscuit
dough into a large rectangle, about 1/4-inch thick. Cut lengthwise
into 6 equal strips.
On the sticks, skewer the sausages.
Next, wrap the dough around each sausage
diagonally. Sprinkle lightly with spices.
Place the wraps on baking sheet.
Place in oven and bake 15 to 20 minutes or until
the sausages are warmed through and the crust is golden brown.
Remove the sticks and arrange sausage wraps on
Serve hot with the mustard sauce for dipping.
