Panhandle Ham Sandwiches
Southern Home CookingMakes 4 servings

Prep Time: 15 min.
Baking Time: 5 min.

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 - cup light butter or margarine (softened)
  • 4 - green onions (diced)
  • 2 - Tablespoons prepared mustard
  • 2 - teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 4 - (60inch) French bead loaves (split)
  • 4 - slices Monterey Jack cheese
  • 8 - Baked glazed Ham slices

Directions:

Preheat oven to 350° F.

  1. In a small bowl, you want to stir together butter (or margarine), green onions, prepared mustard, and Worcestershire sauce.
  2. Spread butter mixture evenly over cut sides of bread.
  3. Cut cheese slices in half and place 2 halves evenly on bottom halves bread.  
  4. Top with ham slices and tops of bread.  Wrap each sandwich in foil.
  5. Bake sandwiches for 5 minutes or until thoroughly heated and cheese melts.

Kitchen Tip: sandwiches may be prepared ahead and frozen.  Bake at 350° F. for 40 minutes.
