San Juan Pueblo Steak

Cooking Time: 1 hr. 30 min.
Ingredients:
- 1/2 - cup flour
- 1 - Tablespoon chili
powder
- 1 - teaspoon salt
- 2 - pounds round steak,
1-inch thick
- 2 - Tablespoon olive oil
- 1 - clove garlic (minced)
- 1 - onion (minced)
- 1 - cup tomato sauce
- 2 - cups water
Directions:
- In a small mixing bowl,
combine flour chili powder, and salt.
- Using the edge of a plate,
pound steak and flour mixture.
- In a heavy skillet, heat
oil, and sauté garlic and onions for 3 minutes.
- Remove and set aside. Add
the steak to the skillet and brown on both sides.
- Add the tomato sauce,
water, and garlic and onions.
- Cover and cook over low
heat for 1-1/2 hours.
