Find True
Grocery Shopping Savings
Change can come in either of
two important ways: Start behaving positively or stop behaving
negatively.”
Dr. Phil McGraw
I’m with you, I want to save
money when I go to the grocery store. Looking for the answer, I’ve
read many books and visited loads of web sites. Let’s face it,
there is no magical cure to “savings.” It doesn’t happen
“overnight.” There is no “miracle” grocery savings
program.
Despite the millions of
advertising dollars spent to convince you otherwise, savings and
continuing to save is not “quick and easy.” You know it and
I know it. I know you want me to give you an easy solution. I
know you’re looking for the “quick and easy” answer.
You will begin to save and
maybe become healthier, when you “cut the crap and make it
happen.” It will happen because you make it happen. It will
take place because you have chosen to step up and do what it
takes to get what you want.
I don’t want the book to
pretend that I have “all” the answers. Because we’re all
unique what might work for me, may not work for you. Your
savings plan is unique to you. Your strategies must be yours and
yours alone. For it to work for you, you must design it
specifically for you.
My goal is to help you, when
grocery shopping to develop a high level of confidence, power,
vigor, and direction that your life will seem like new. You can
do it, trust me. You have to do it with an eager attitude and an
open mind.
I’m confident about what in
this book because it is not only from my experience, but it is
also from my most current research. Saving at the grocery store
is not rocket science!
I’m not going to tell you
what you want to hear. Just like life or dieting, it is not “quick
and easy” and neither is grocery savings.
You always have a choice. You
can choose to save money or not. You can choose to worry about
it or not. When you choose your actions and your ideas, you
choose the costs that result from your actions.
You do not have to save money.
You do not have to eat right. It may be a goal but it isn’t
something you “have to.” Trust me, you don’t want to lie
to yourself. Just make the decision to save at the grocery
store. Just make the decision to eat healthier.
Maya Angelou wrote, “You did
what you knew how to do, and when you knew better, you did
better.” Begin right now.
Trust me, you will be
successful. You will take control of your life and be totally in
charge of everything you think, do, and feel. It is not just
about saving money; it is about changing what you do with your
life. By changing you from the inside out, you will be able to
attain and keep what I call your real-life grocery savings.
It is savings that is “right” for you – a stable and
comfortable program. You feel good and lovingly, accept yourself
from the inside out.
To help you better understand,
I’d like you to meet the Starr family. They’re Cliff,
Connie, Camie and Chuck. Both Cliff and Connie work. He works
for the state and she works at a local dentist office. Both
children, Camie and Chuck are in elementary school. Camie is a 6th
grader and Chuck in the 4th grade.
Because of the work schedules
and activities, both parents attend night school one day a week.
The children’s after school activities were important to them.
Cliff and Connie decided to
share grocery-shopping duties. They decided to earmark the
grocery savings for college and vacations. They, after figuring
the past years grocery receipts, decided they wanted to save 50%
off their grocery bill.
