and a Major League Baseball right fielder. He was born in Carolina,
Puerto Rico, the youngest of seven children.
He chartered Douglas DC-7
for relief aid to the victims of the Managua, the capital city of
Nicaragua, on December 23, 1972, earthquake. The plane crashed into the
ocean off the coast of Isla Verde, Puerto Rico immediately after takeoff
on December 31, 1972. He was 38 years old.
