Tris Coffin (Tristram Coffin) was a movie and TV actor from the
late-1930s through the late-1970s, usually in westerns or other
action-adventure films.
He appeared often in westerns as villain. Among other films, he
played in "Iris Luck" (1939), "Father Steps Out"
(1941), "Forbidden Trails" (1941), "The Corpse
Vanishes" (1942), "Gentleman From Texas" (1946),
"Blackmail" (1947), "Flamingo Road" (1949),
"Riders of the Dusk" (1949), "Pirates of High Seas"
(1950) and "The Silent Witness" (1962).
Coffin also played the lead as Captain Tom Rynning in the TV series
"26 Men". "26 Men" was based on the true official
files of the Arizona Rangers in the final days of taming the "old
west" before Arizona became a State in 1912.
Death: March 26, 1990
He died in Santa Monica from Lung Cancer.
