John Wesley Hardin
was an
outlaw and gunfighter of the American Old West. He was born in Bonham,
Fannin County, Texas. By the time he went to prison in 1878, he claimed
to have killed 44 men.
Constable John Selman, Sr., saw Hardin with his
back to him. Drawing his gun he put it to the back of Hardin's head and
pulled the trigger killing him instantly. The 42 year old John Wesley
Hardin died on August 19, 1895.
