Using
a heavy skilled, cook the onion in the bacon drippings until brown.

Add
the remaining ingredients, except brown sugar, and cook over low heat until
tender, about 45 minutes.

Stir
frequently to prevent sticking.

Also,
add a little more water if necessary.

Add
sugar when almost done, you want to prevent burning.

Ladle into a dish
and serve.
Picnicking
& Tailgating:
Heat before leaving (on stove or in microwave) and
pour into a thermal container to keep warm. When ready to serve at the
picnic or tailgate site, serve from the container and enjoy.
