Mom’s Brown Sugar Baked Beans

  • 4 - slices bacon, cut into 1/2-inch pieces
  • 1/2 - cup firmly packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 - cup chili sauce
  • 1/2 - cup chopped onion
  • 2 - cans (21-ounce) pork and beans
  • 2 - Tablespoons country-style Dijon mustard
  • 1 - Tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/4 - teaspoon hot pepper sauce

Directions

Preheat oven to 325°F.

  1. In a 10-inch skillet Cook bacon over medium-high heat, stirring occasionally, for 4 to 6 minutes or until bacon is browned. Place bacon on paper towel to drain.
  2. In a large bowl, combine cooked bacon, brown sugar, chili sauce, onion, pork & beans, mustard, Worcestershire sauce, and pepper sauce.
  3. Pour into ungreased 2-quart casserole.
  4. Bake, stirring occasionally, for 1 1/2 to 2 hours or until slightly thickened.
